My AP Summer Training

Okay, I'll admit it! I had to go to summer school! It was all for the sake of my future students, however, and in an effort to produce some of the greatest writers this world has ever read. I'm having fun, getting tips from my peers, learning from an experienced British instructor for the American College Board of Education, and partaking of a free lunch every day. What does it matter that I'm having to drive more than an hour each way (while most of my colleagues have been "put up" in fancy hotels), driving through McDonald's for my unsweet "sweet" tea (7 packets of Splenda do wonders for that unsweet savory liquid of the South), and having to get up at the crack of dawn. On this, our first trip to the awesome, and I mean truly AWESOME media center here at UGA, I have perused some sample syllabi for my AP class, and I have started my blog for the fall semester. I am currently typing on a 24-inch monitor, using an Apple computer, and on my walk through the library, we even passed by a sensational in-house coffee shop. The aromatherapy gave me enough energy for my drive home today...I hope! We're having a late lunch today, starting around 1:00, but we get a whole hour and a half...and I'm talking good food too. Can you tell I'm ready for my lunch? It's FOR FREEEEEE! (That's a quote from Adam Sandler's recent movie, Bedtime Stories). Well, I will chat later 'cause I'm thinkin' some of my classmates are sneakin' outta here early...gotta go!
